DPS – Lexical Scholars

The Inter House DPS Lexical Scholars Competition conducted at DPS on 20^th  April for Grades VI-VIII emphasized on promoting a fun way of enriching the learning process and fostering team building. The main objective of school quizzing competitions such as this is to encourage students to look beyond their textual knowledge and establish a relationship between theory and application of the learning concepts. As soon as the quiz competition started, the teacher explained the rules of the competition. The first round was “Spell Bee’ where the judge asked the participants to write 6 difficult words given by her. The second round was ‘Parts of Speech’. All the houses did well in this round. This round was followed by the ‘Homophones’ . The participants gave their best in it. The Last round was the toughest one which was “Idioms and Phrases. The students displayed their extraordinary English vocabulary and grammar skills in this competition. At the end, Vayu House secured the 1^st position, Agni House held the 2^nd Position and Aakash House secured the 3^rd Position.  The competition ended with a great zeal.
