An Educational Tour. The purpose of this trip is to provide students provides an opportunity for non-experimental research and helps bring all the students to a common platform irrespective of their social, economic & cultural backgrounds. So by keeping this in mind DPS-JC organised an educational tour to Chandigarh and Manali, this year from 1 to 8 October. We boarded the train from Champa on 1 of October and reached Ambala in the mid-night. First day we were ready to visited Rock Garden and its local market. The Rock Garden of Chandigarh is a sculpture garden for rock enthusiasts in Chandigarh. It is also known as Nek Chand Saini’s Rock Garden of Nathupur after its founder Nek Chand Saini, from this visit our students gained a lot of experience. On the very next day after reaching Manali students went to Rohtang Pass which is a high mountain pass on the eastern end of the Pir Panjal Range of the Himalayas. It is known for its scenic beauty and holds strategic importance for India. The Pass offers beautiful sights of glaciers, peaks, Lahaul Valley and the Chandra River. The twin peaks of Geypan are also visible from Rohtang Pass. The next sightseeing was Hadimba temple. It is the most famous temple in this area. For Shopping students went to Mall Road and purchased many thrilling gifts for their near and dear ones. The students also got an opportunity to interact with the shop-keepers on Manali Mall road and also with the local people of Manali. Students visited the famous Shawl Factory in Kullu, it was a great experience for our students and helped them to practically understand the Knitting process of various structures in circular knitting and flat knitting, embroidery, printing, knitwear apparel product, manufacturing process and various other applications with specification to knitting. It was a part of the curriculum and well planned under the guidance of our experienced tour guide, our Principal, Mrs Kalpana Singh and teachers such as Mr. Vinay Garhwal, Mr. Prince Rai, Mr. Razan Nath, Mr. Devesh Rawat, Ms. Archana Chauhan, Ms. Monalisha Prasad, Ms. Priyanka Roy and Ms. Divya Kashyap. It underlined the fact that the best education that a student can ever receive is through travel only.
