CODE OF CONDUCT FOR STUDENTS
Students of D.P.S. should stand out as smart, confident, disciplined, cultured and fluent individuals. The school expects the students to imbibe discipline as a second nature.
The school follows certain norms rather rigidly in the best interest of learners.
- Students are expected to take proper care of the school property. They should not mishandle, damage or break expensive electronic items like the computer and digi – boards installed in the class rooms or any item of furniture or electrical fittings, otherwise the students will have to pay the full cost of the concerned item, along with a heavy fine.
- Students should not write, scratch or engrave graffiti on desks, chairs and other surfaces. Those indulging in such nefarious activities are liable to strict disciplinary action.
- While moving in the corridors, or using staircase, students should walk in a line and keep to their left. Running in the corridors, pushing other children etc. will not be tolerated. Changing of class rooms between periods should be done in silence and in an orderly manner.
- Loitering in the School Reception Area is strictly forbidden.
- It is compulsory for all students to attend the Assembly. No student shall stay back in the class during Assembly without prior permission from the Class Teacher / Head Mistress / Principal.
- Coming late to the class, especially after Lunch break, Games period or any other activity lesson, is not allowed.
- Use of abusive and filthy language in school will lead to the suspension of students.
- Students must show respect to elders and should love younger students.
- Students are not allowed to bring any sharp instruments like blades, knives etc. to school.
- No other literature, other than the school books or library books shall be brought to school.
- Firing crackers or splashing colour during Diwali/Holi in the school premises is strictly forbidden. Non-compliance of these instructions can lead to expulsion from the school.
- Irregular attendance, unjustified or unexplained absence from school, habitual late coming, disobedience, showing disrespect to teachers and any other type of unruly and objectionable behavior are considered grave acts of indiscipline, which can lead to expulsion from the school.
- Students must maintain the clean, green beautiful surroundings of the school campus and not deface it with toffee wrappers, disposable tumblers, poly packs etc.
- They should not pluck flowers or uproot plants in the lawns.
- They should take good care of their health and keep themselves robust and strong.
- They should always be friendly to others in and out of the school.
- They should avoid vulgarity in talk and behaviour.
- They should accept whatever work is assigned to them as their rightful share. They should face difficulties courageously.
- They should always be ready to lend a helping hand at home to their parents, brothers and sisters, in school to teachers and companions and any unattended visitor whom they happen to meet in the school premises.
- They should never cheat or be unfair at play.
- They should rise when any teacher or visitor comes to talk further.
- They should be truthful.
- They should never be cruel. They should know that cruelty is the trait of a bully while kindness is the mark of a gentleman.
- They should respect the beauty of the classroom and of the school premises and report any damage they may observe.
- They should never hesitate to say “NO” when asked or tempted to do a thing which they know to be wrong.
- They should respect the liberty and the right of others.
- Instead of lamenting and grumbling over the evils of the world they should try to contribute their share in making it a better place to live in.
- They should look upon people from all parts of the world as brothers & sisters irrespective of their caste, colour and creed.
- They should not waste their time in idle gossip.
- They should take pride in wearing their school uniform.
- Every student is expected to bring his/her Almanac to school daily.
- Students should line up for assembly as soon as assembly bell rings.
- Students should proceed to their class rooms in line immediately after the assembly.
- Movement in the corridors other than the breaks is strictly prohibited.
- Students should not possess or be under the influence of any drug or medicine that has not been prescribed by the School Medical Staff/Doctor.
- Students are not permitted to interact with visitors during school hours. They may do so, only after permission is granted by the school authorities. They will not receive letters, parcels or such things from outsiders directly.
- No student must enter other classrooms without permission.
- No student must enter staff-room without permission.
- Students are strictly forbidden to bring any outside books, literature, CDs, DVDs, pendrives etc to school without the permission of the respective teacher (subject/class).
- The Admission No., name, class and section of the student should be neatly marked on all belongings of the students.
- Students of Classes I-III will write with pencil only. (wooden covered pencil, no fancy pencil will be allowed). Students of Class IV onwards can use ball pens only.
- The students should take proper care of their respective class rooms. If the class rooms are found dirty and the maintenance part has not been taken care throughout the year, fine from the students will be imposed according to the maintenance incurred by the school in respective class rooms.
- The students are not allowed to distribute any sweets, cake or gifts on their birthdays.
