Schools are the best places to inspire young minds, and making them aware about our great heritage. While thousands of our events expose children to our heritage, we also want to create platforms for motivating students to get deeper and more transformational experiences. The wonderful artists of Purilia Chhau Dance on behalf of SPIC MACAY were present on this occasion. Students were given a remarkable opportunity to see and learn from various maestros and renowned artistic geniuses who brought such an experience that was both intense and inspiring. They were also provided more than a peek into India’s rich cultural tapestry with concerts, cinema classics etc. The Special Guests of the evening were Mr. Leeladhar Kashyap, SDOP Champa & Mr. Manish Parihar TI, Champa and the Guest of Honour was Smt. Meena Devi Ji Dewangan, Patron Ramgopal Dewangan Memorial Society, Champa. The event commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp followed by a welcome song.
To introduce SPIC MACAY to the audience Mr. Swapan Bairagya, PGT English took the initiative. After that a formal welcome speech was offered by the Principal DPS-JC, Mrs. Kalpana Singh. The Special Guest of the event, Mr. Manish Parihar TI motivated our students by his motivational speech on ‘SPIC MACAY’.
The core events like concerts of ‘SPIC MACAY’ demonstrated our great culture and heritage in a good way. Masters of different forms of classical music, dance, folk music and world heritage come to the educational institutions every year and perform for the students. It was the same this year too for our school DPS-JC where a platform was provided to the artists of Purulia Chhau for an informal interaction with the students.
Towards the end of the programme mementos and shawls & sacred coconuts were presented to the special guests and all the artiest by Mr. Purushottam Dewangan and Mr. Kamal Kishore Dewangan, Vice President and Associate Vice President of DPS- JC respectively. The programme was successfully hosted by Mrs. Saira Khan & Ms. Sumita Das and was concluded with a ‘Vote of Thanks’ by Mrs. Ritanjali Saraf, PGT Economics.
